Mission Statement

EGB-BR is committed to enhancing our community by generating awareness about sustainability and the green building movement through education, involvement and leadership of our local students and young professionals in the South Central region of Louisiana.

Join EGB Baton Rouge

Why Join?

Membership isn't required to attend our events but individuals who join the Baton Rouge Chapter enjoy several distinct membership benefits including:

- Several events each year (tours, lectures, community involvement, etc...)

- Reduced admission to all EGB events

- Reduced admission prices for select USGBC Louisiana Chapter sponsored and/or co-sponsored events

- Access to the most current information on green building/high performance building and sustainable building

How To Join

In order to join the Chapter as an Emerging Green Builder you must be currently in school or within 5 years of graduation. The membership fee for EGB is $25.00. If you don't meet these criteria there are other membership options available. For additional information and to join you need to go to the USGBC National website and follow the directions.

Upcoming Activities

Sustainable Design Practice for High Performance Buildings

Designed to augment technical expertise in the design, construction and operation of high performance buildings that incorporate energy efficient design principles and practices. The course includes an introduction to the evolution of green building rating systems and provides an overview of national and regional assessment methods, rating systems and guidelines for sustainable design and best practice in the United States and Canada.
